The name “cordyceps” comes from the actual scientific observation, which is the phenomenon of a worm of the genus Hepialus in the total family Lepidoptera (Butterfly Wings) parasitized by a species of pocket fungus called Cordyceps sinensis (Berk.) of the family Ascomycetes (Cyst bacteria).
